Luke D Sharp
17/05/1981
Before he could walk you could have met him down at his farthers local race site in Mulwala in Yarrawonga, then in the late 80’s it was following Warwick Dawson around the Offshore scene & admiring the Fun Way Flyers at his work. At an early age of 17 a Johnson SST 45 race motor was spotted at Sportscraft Marine in Morrinsiville & Kevin arranged a deal. A boat was purchased off Mark Taiitinini & into the garage for a refit – with some testing down in Weymouth Estuary Luke had the bug – next year running a new F3 OZ Burgess it wasn’t long before some national championships were under his belt. A funny story when racing one year at Kariparo a Business Man Daniel Kim admired Luke & the boat & said “You win next race, write up contract & I buy your boat”. Soon after a Korean Celebrity was flown to NZ & a program was made with Luke coaching the celebrity to a stage where he competed in a race at Mangere Bridge. Over the last 12 years this team can be easily be seen with the signature yellow paint job Campaigning Humminbird, Sierra & Promt Parts.
